We’ve been back a week from our relaxing week in Marco Island. It was so relaxing just spending time in the pool, fishing on the dock and trips to the beach. There really is something about “island time” as the week went by nice and slow (that never happens at home).
The most exciting thing we did all week was brave the lagoon at Tigertail to reach Tigertail Beach. The beach is so pretty but was extremely rough on the day we went. The kids enjoyed the adventure of the lagoon. We were quite proud of ourselves as C, T and I have been three times prior and had never made it across. Unfortunately on the way back, it was high tide so the little ones weren’t able to wade, but had to swim some of the way. The experience added to the story and story is important.
We never set our alarm clock and never had a schedule to follow. We knew one day we wanted to go to the Edison Ford Winter Estate in Ft. Myers but we were flexible on when we went and it worked out on Thursday. We were ready for a day out of the water and we also managed to do some school shopping that day.
Rod’s parents, aka Poppi and Granny, came down for two nights and we really enjoyed spending time with them.
Poppi brought the boat down and the boys squeezed in an afternoon fishing while the girls hung out swimming and laying out by the pool.
The house was beautiful with lots of space and had a view that I would never get tired of.
We were able to bring Yoda as well and it was nice to have him with us for the week.
Taking the time just to spend with each other is what I enjoyed most about the week. There were no projects, no to do lists, no set plans and it was glorious.
